RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased course.
This is an advanced navigation theory course for those who wish to undertake longer coastal passages or are preparing for their RYA Coastal Skipper or RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Coastal Certificate.
We assume that you are already qualified as a RYA Day Skipper or have relevant experience and although some time is set aside for the revision of subjects covered in the elementary course you should arrive with an understanding of the basics and a good working knowledge of the Collision Regulations particularly lights and shapes.

•how to work out secondary port tidal heights
•navigation in restricted visibility
•the capabilities and limitations of electronic navigation aids
There is special emphasis on the Collision Regulations and Meteorology.
The cost is £380 and includes all the RYA charts, almanacs and equipment needed to complete the course including the RYA Course Notes. You just need to bring your plotting instruments, a notepad and some 2B pencils. Tea and coffee is included and you can get lunch from the village which is a short walk away.
