The CEVNI test is a short written paper; consisting of 14 multiple answer questions, normally taking no more than 30 minutes to complete. It is essential if you wish to use the inland waterways or canals in Europe.

Anchorage RYA Sea School runs the exam regularly online and can be contacted on 01934 744430. The cost is £35 per person and a copy of the RYA publication "European Waterways Regulations: The CEVNI Rules Explained" is included in this price and canditates need to be familiar with it's contents before taking the test.

The multi-choice paper covers the lights and shapes displayed by craft, the traffic signals and general knowledge about the rules.

A full copy of the latest CEVNI rules in English is available at
